Wood Wood’s AW20 collection encourages you to hit the woods
Back to the roots — the Danish brand celebrates an anticipated homecoming to Copenhagen with an outdoorsy AW20 collection.
After four years of only doing fashion week shows in London and Milano, Wood Wood decided it was time to head home to where it all started for the AW20 collection.
– Wood Wood has always strived to be an international brand, and we’ve always represented Copenhagen. What the city reflects, it’s what our core DNA stands for, quality, creativity and attitude. We’re glad to see that Copenhagen Fashion Week has evolved alongside the city and put us up there as an extraordinary week of the season, says co-founder Karl-Oskar Olsen.
The new collection was presented in the rough surroundings of industrial beams and concrete floors, contrasting the outdoorsy vibes that the clothes gave off. Wood Wood claim to have soaked up inspiration from Jules Verne’s Voyages Extraordinaires for the collection, to delve in to the outdoors and the notion of exploration. The result was an evocative sportswear collection with a functional approach.

The models stepped out in boots from Wood Wood’s recent collaboration with Timberland, and their upcoming collaboration with Mizuno took its first steps – outdoorsy multicolor sneakers was seen worn by some of the models.
In Verne’s notion of exploration, the men’s collection referenced to army and navy surplus by deployed camouflage shirts, trousers and other outerwear, as well as natural and earthy tones mixed with hand drawn prints and patterned yarns.
– We have the best design and production team we could ask for, and we’re very excited to show everyone what we’ve been working on the past six months, we’re super proud of the whole team behind our brand, Olsen said prior to the show.
