Weekly: Tonsure collab, a five star stay in Copenhagen and the world’s most luxurious underwear

Five top stories from this week of Scandinavian fashion and lifestyle.

Demonstrably one to watch After being appointed the European winner of the prestigious Woolmark Prize earlier this year, Swedish L’Homme Rouge is now gaining extra attention from Interview Magazine as one of seven on their list “These young designers are the global faces of menswear”.

– A lot of our designs, really good ones to be honest, unfortunately never see daylight, designer Jonatan Härngren says in the interview. We’re dependent on what buyers want in order to produce the clothes. We want to create a bigger platform to showcase all of our designs as soon as possible.

A five star stay in Copenhagen The latest addition to the long list of the Danish capital’s unique hotel experience opened in the city’s very cultural heart the other week. Hotel Sanders offers casual luxury in a boutique hotel. The owner, former ballet dancer Alexander Colpin, wants to enter through the doors to be like stepping into a theatre. The opening follows after media coverage from the likes of Forbes, Wallpaper, Condé Nast Traveler, and Vanity Fair, while the 54 rooms have been described as a trip back to Cairo, Singapore, New York and Paris in the 50s and 60s.

Hotel Sanders is located at Tordenskjoldsgade 15 in Copenhagen

Göran Kling x New Black The Swedish streetwear brand join forces with jewellery designer Göran Kling launching new clothing and jewellery collaboration “PEACE”. New Black founders Andreas Undén and Elias Gillberg have challenged the Swedish streetwear culture, and the brand is now described as one of the world’s most exciting in its niche. Kling has made himself a name for his handmade jewellery, characterized by a solid craftsmanship, high quality and a playful design that dares to stretch on borders. It’s also been worn by several of the world’s most famous artists.

– The peace sign is always current, but maybe even more relevant this Fall 2017, Elias Gillberg says about the collaboration theme. We are often inspired by 90’s hiphop culture, and it is also a symbol that fits well with Göran’s aesthetics.
