Tiger of Sweden’s new limited series of handcrafted vases pays homage to Sweden and its tradition of glassmaking

43 signed vases created together with Pilglas and designed by Studio Trojka and Jonas Larsen are launching today.

Tiger of Sweden Objects is a non-seasonal product line spanning across the worlds of interior design, arts and craft. Objects manifest themselves through their properties, shapes and expressions. The third project within the initiative is a line of unique handcrafted vases, created together with Pilglas and the glassblower Lennart Nissmark at Studio Glashyttan in Åhus, Sweden. As mentioned, the project is paying homage to their native country and its tradition of glassmaking and heritage within crafts.

The moulds for the production are weaved of locally grown willow picked by the designers from the area. When the hot glass is blown into the mould, it changes slightly, vase after vase; some branch shrinks, changes direction, shape or burns away. This makes every object unique.
