”The world’s first genderless, hyperlocal luxury streetwear brand” is ready to launch Lisa Bergstrand has previously designed for Saint Laurent, Givenchy, Céline, Adam Kimmel, and House of Dagmar. Her new project A New Sweden is set out to challenge the fashion industry’s sustainability standards.

– In 15 years of working in fashion, I’ve not found a brand that goes far enough in their definition of sustainability. I knew that if I wanted clothes that were uncompromisingly made in the right way, I needed to take everything I learned and do it myself.

The creative direction for A New Sweden is focused on silhouettes that transcend seasons; materials which are luxurious, ethically farmed and locally sourced. Instead of putting out collections, A New Sweden focuses on one garment – a so-called Edition – in limited numbers, per year. The first one – the Jämtland Sweatshirt – is sourced from the 1,500 tons of Swedish wool destroyed annually, to create chemical-free, pollution-free, plastic-free luxury garments, proudly made in Sweden. It is constructed from the first ever jersey made of Swedish wool and the yarn is described as the finest ever spun from Swedish wool.

– I want to bring the effortless elegance of my past into a responsible and accountable future, Bergstrand says.

The premier collection featuring two genderless wardrobe staples remakes of iconic cotton garments in Swedish wool is available for pre-order online now.

True Craftsmanship wins two golds at ISPO Award Swedish innovative sportswear brand Craft was awarded twice at the ISPO Award during the recent trade fair in Munich, Germany, with two Golds added to its bulging medal collection. The winners this time are the SubZ Sweater and the CTM Hood Long Sleeve, with both garments being unique and combining fashion, sports and innovation to push the limits of next generation sportswear. The ISPO Award jury statements:

For the CTM Baselayer Hood Long Sleeve: ”This next-gen 3D seamless warp knit with features ranging from moisture management to exceptional fit ensures precise function.”

One iconic photographer and one basketball superstar for Acne Studios SS19 Basketball superstar Russell Westbrook, one of the most celebrated players of his generation, is the star of the Spring/Summer 2019 campaign for Acne Studios. Shot by acclaimed photographer Juergen Teller, the campaign focuses on denim, with jeans the first garment ever produced by Acne Studios over twenty years ago. Teller travelled to Oklahoma, where Westbrook plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder, to shoot the campaign.

– Denim is how Acne Studios started, and it still fascinates me. I’ve always wanted to work with Juergen Teller, and so we asked Juergen to photograph our denim on American icon Russell Westbrook, says Jonny Johansson, Creative Director of Acne Studios. – I was already a huge fan of Acne Studios, so I was really excited when they asked me to be the face for their new campaign. I really identify with Acne Studios because their aesthetic is very unique, and I like to be unique too, says Russell Westbrook.

For his first campaign for Acne Studios, Juergen Teller has created a series of images that show Westbrook playing basketball in unexpected Oklahoma locations wearing Acne Studios denim. Among the Acne Studios denim worn by Westbrook in the shoot is the 1996 fit, a style that recreates the first jeans ever created by Acne Studios.
