“The collection invites you to be active in your own way”
Danish 7 DAYS ACTIVE is showing their AW20 collection at Copenhagen Fashion Week 2020. The focus is to invite everyone to find their own way of being active in the present.
7 DAYS ACTIVE is an activewear label dedicated to inspiring individual stories of motion for the mind, body, and soul. They want to create functional pieces for an active lifestyle on and off-court. The brand was founded in Copenhagen in the spring of 2019 by Creative Director Malkit Singh and CEO Anders Degn, with the purpose of being active in a fashionable way.
During the Copenhagen Fashion Week 2020 they will show their second collection for AW20. The inspiration comes from athletes all over the world doing what they love, from boxing and basketball to surfing and skiing. It is all about a passion for what you do, and the pursuit of being the best you can be.
After the show, Scandinavian MAN exchanged some questions with the designer Malkit Singh:
Can you tell us about your brand?
7 DAYS is an active brand that involves you to be active in your own way. We invite everyone to find their own way to be active. We like the combination of traditional sportswear and trying to keep it very simple and comfortable, and we add in a lot of colors to it. This season we have added some skiing elements and technical suits. It is wearable and you can wear everything from the gym to skiing. Basically, the collection is inviting you to be active and mixing an active styling.
Where did you get the inspiration from?
Basically, my inspiration came from my former designing work, where we had a lot of traditional colors. I wanted to mix fashionable and seasonal colors together with different fabrics to get a good look and vibe.
Why is it important for you to be at Copenhagen Fashion Week?
It is very important for me because it is my hometown and when you start a brand it is much easier to make a statement at home before you grow bigger. And I feel very comfortable here. It was a great opportunity for me to be part of the Copenhagen Fashion Week when they gave us the chance to do a show here, which we are really excited about. In the end, it is all about taking small steps forward.
What are your future plans for the brand? Any collaborations?
We don’t really have any plans, we take one day ahead and try to live in the present. Of course, if you design a new collection you need to look forward, but basically, we try to live in the moment and the new collection is also inspired by being in the present.
