Style guru Lalle Johnson’s new shoe line for high quality footwear label Myrqvist is season neutral and — obviously — impeccable

”Lalle has extensive experience of working with world leading fashion brands, and it was therefore especially flattering that Lalle wanted to work with an up-and-coming brand like us.”

The Stockholm-based shoe brand just opened their new retail space at the best location in central Stockholm. Founded in 2016 as the first Swedish brand for Goodyear welted dress shoes, they’re devoted to making high quality handcrafted shoes more accessible.

— Our Scandinavian origin can be seen both in our brand and products, as our shoes and boots are made to tackle harsh Northern European climate, says founder Sebastian Öhrn.

Your new collab drop with Lalle Johnson drops tomorrow. How did it come to life?

— Ever since I was a teenager and started to develop an interest for menswear, Lalle has always been a true inspiration to me. We became acquainted when I started to work in the menswear industry and he showed interest in our products and brand from the start. Earlier this year he came by our store because he needed a pair of custom made tassel loafers for a photo shoot in Milan. We gladly produced them for him as Made-To-Order, but realized that we should make Lalle’s designs available to our customers. And that is how the idea of the design collaboration came to be. Lalle decided to make a rather season neutral collection, consisting of two single monk-straps, one chukka boot and two slippers.

Why was Lalle the perfect choice as your first collaboration partner?

— For this first one, we felt it was very important to work with someone who had industry experience and an understanding and appreciation for the craftsmanship. Lalle has extensive experience of working with world leading fashion brands, and it was therefore especially flattering that he wanted to work with an up-and-coming brand like Myrqvist. As an added bonus, Lalle is also both model and stylist, which allowed him to model and style the entire campaign as well. Concludingly, the entire collaboration breathes very much Lalle through it all, says Öhrn, adding,

— We hope to make more designer collaborations in the future, as it is a very creative and exciting process that allow us to work with talented creators.
