Robin Nyström, better known as Mwuana, was around 14 when he realized that music was his thing.

— My parents had gotten divorced and I lived in Bromsten outside of Stockholm with my mom, he says. I dealt with a lot of shit back then, felt like I didn’t belong anywhere, trying to figure out who I was. But that was when I started rapping and I built my first studio together with Michel Dida in his mother’s apartment. It hasn’t always been easy, but I believe that you can do whatever you want, wherever you’re from if you just put your mind to it. And that’s what I did.

He’s been awarded Hip Hop Artist of the Year at the Swedish P3 Guld awards and has secured a total of three Swedish Grammy nominations.

— Right now I’m in a great place but I’ve been everywhere on scale, he summarizes.

Following the success of his hit song ”Craftmanship”, which was exclusively rewritten for Chimi’s Chi in Chimi campaign earlier this year, Mwuana is now launching his own collaboration with the Swedish eyewear brand; Craftmanship – Mwuana for Chimi.

— They contacted me back in March just when I had released ”Craftmanship”. They thought it was perfect for their spring campaign that was going to be fronted by supermodel Elsa Hosk. Crazy right?! But I agree and it worked out really well. So well that we ended up doing this collaboration based on it, says Mwuana, adding

— And it has been a great experience designing these two pair of sunglasses together with Chimi’s designer Linnéa Ryrstam and capturing the essence of what Craftmanship really is. And I mean, they turned out great, but now you’re probably never going to see my eyes again!
