Johan Lindeberg returns with BLK DNM today

After four years away, the Swedish creative brings back the iconic leatherjackets and black jeans.


Lindeberg’s creative project features an item-based collection with a strong cultural identity around themes like equality, freedom, politics and art.

— The brand was born in downtown NYC in 2011, a city where I have lived for more than 20 years. What I love about NYC is that it’s a borderless community, a city where its inhabitants don’t care about passports, religion or country of origin, he says, continuing,

— BLK DNM is a brand without a flag. If we have a flag it’s our own. We believe in creativity as an expression for freedom and a way to unify the world. A world where love is more valued than any religion. A world of equality, where talent and inner intuition is encouraged and not blocked, where being multicultural is always more powerful than being monocultural. I have always seen jeans as a symbol of freedom, so now when chapter 2 begins, the denim is in focus. Every item we do has a number, jeans 5, leatherjacket 5, pilotjacket 90 and more. With numbers we emphasize that we create items, wardrobe classics, and not a collection. It’s very easy and straightforward.
