The anorak is a true classic and a model that the brands keep coming back to, according to Sofia Jönsson, Head of Innovation.

— It is the archetypical anorak, with the latest technology and design, this season it tells a story, she says, continuing,

— We wanted to celebrate our heritage and make a tribute to Dalarna by using the traditional Kurbits pattern that is extremely common in this region of Sweden. We decided to filter it through the creative minds of graphic designers (Elvira Varghans and Ivar Lantz) and see what they would come up with. The result: A flowery pattern that gives the Edge Evo Anorak and other products this season a unique look that fuses modern performance with heritage influences.   Why is it a key piece?

— With this garment, we’re taking the Edge Anorak classic from 1997 to its next level. The updated Edge Evo Anorak is made from robust, protective 3-layer PROOF™ fabric – offering full water- and windproofing, without compromising style or utility. It’s been designed in a classic silhouette with a little extra length for added protection and its loaded with technical features and built to a truly iconic design.   Yes, tell us more about the fabrics.

— It is a durable and robust 100% recycled nylon fabric, with a rugged, dull, big-square ripstop look. And it has a fluorocarbon-free DWR-treated surfaces to help repel water and dirt, says Jönsson.   How sustainable is it?

— It is made from recycled nylon and have a fluorocarbon free treatment to repel the water from the face.   How would you wear it?

— It should be worn in the outdoors to protect you from the elements like rain, snow and wind. It matches perfect with a Haglöfs lightweight insulation jacket as layer on layer piece.   And what else do you have coming?

— For every season, we’re pushing boundaries within outdoor performance, launching new innovative outdoor products while building on our Swedish heritage. For FW19, the product team built the design language on inspiration from art traditions of the Dalarna region, the birth place of the brand. The colors in the range are developed with the local artist Carl Larsson in mind and a seasonal exclusive print is seen on selected pieces in the range.
