Exclusive made-to-measure leather jacket helps building water wells in Ethiopia

How about a package with an exclusive customized jacket (where you can choose the leather from either Swedish reindeer, reindeer calf, moose, or deer) a 5-star sleepover and a sample menu? It’s available on a charity gala in Stockholm tonight.

Words: Johan Magnusson

Martin Key’s eponymous label offers exclusive leather jackets from Scandinavia’s leading tanneries, made in a family business’ factory in the Dalarna region in Sweden.

At Operakällaren Foundation’s charity dinner in favour of WaterAid tonight, he offers something extra. The highest bidder will experience a sleepover in a suite at 5-star hotel At Six in Stockholm. Upon arrival, Key will serve champagne, show the collection and take measures for his own jacket. The customer will then choose the leather, the zipper and other details. The hanger will be hand-carved by Stockholm-based scupltor and artist Peter Gustafsson. The session is then followed by a sample menu, made and presented in person by Andreas Askling, Executive Chef at At Six.

This is the second consecutive year this auction is presented. Last year the highest bid went for €11,000, which helped WaterAid building 22 new water wells in Ethiopia.
