Oscar Jacobson goes to Havana for an art inspired collection.

Beach by day and drink by night. The fusion between Italian tailoring and Scandinavian taste has transfered Oscar Jacobson to the hottest spot north of Havana, more exactly Copacabana Beach. It’s the work of the Brazilian modernist landscape artist Roberto Burle Marx that has inspired the brand’s SS20 collection. Burle Max is most known for his public space designs and the way he in corporates graphic design and folk art into his landscapes. One of his most iconic projects is the four kilometer long mosaic Copacabana Beach Promenade where an active beach and urban city life seamlessly blend together into an atmosphere that migrates from day to night. — The journey of creating our collections is about finding the right artists whose work and ideas stand the test of time. With a history dating back to 1903, we are a leading luxury menswear brand shaped by craftsmanship, tradition and innovative thinking, and Burle Max ideas incorporates well in our foundation. We wanted to recreate his puls around the Copacabana Beach Promenade and design a timeless collection, says Mats Pettersson, Creative Director at Oscar Jacobson. The collection consists of linen costumes, washed linen shirts mixed with eveningwear tuxedos all in linen and ruffled shirts. The color palette breathes calm sand and olive greens and tropical summer splash with graphic patterns, high summer pastells such as apricot, sun bleached yellow and bright red. The pieces truly reflect on the promenade that attracts businessmen as well as holiday-makers.
