Swedish-born and London-based designer Per Götesson has become a stand-out of the Stockholm Fashion Week since making his debut in 2018 with Swedish Fashion Talents.
The designer first emerged via the Royal College of Art and Lulu Kennedy’s Fashion East with the idea of reinventing jeans and has now through 3-D digital mapping moved on to reinvent the rest of the pant wardrobe.
As usual, it makes for a complicated silhouette as Götesson’s signature aesthetic sees classic pieces reworked through disproportionate fits and repurposed family heirlooms, displaced zippers cut in a V, asymmetric pants with cross-body suspenders and some very interesting 3-D action in the crotch area. In this collection, Götesson is carefully layering the future by reshaping the idea of what fashion innovation consists of. Slowly cutting his way to the new future and trousers as we know them.Per Götesson
