Denim addict drops a spectacular capsule and celebrity watch brand expands with new models

+ more on the sneaker label collaborating with one of the leading fashion and menswear magazines and the watch brand launching two new models for charity.

Tom Wood X Kelly Harrington

For FW18, Norwegian clothing and jewelry brand Tom Wood join forces with denim addict Kelly Harrington. They’ve developed a small capsule of 16 creative outtakes on denim that hits selected stores around the world. The pieces are made of Italian Candiani-denim fabric and are both cut and sewn in Italy. Kelly’s fashion career spans nearly two decades and during that time she has become highly regarded in the fashion industry as a vintage archivist and trend forecaster.

– With Tom Wood Denim we obviously need to experiment and innovate. Kelly was the
perfect partner for our AW18 Capsule project, due to her skills, passion and personal style.
With a shared love affair for Japan and denim, a collaboration with Kelly was inevitable.
Her individual style and enthusiasm for what she does make her a true creative visionary, says Morten Isachsen, co-founder of Tom Wood.

Celebrity watch brand expands with new models

Swedish watch company Carl Edmond launched one year ago by Hollywood actor Joel Kinnaman, ice hockey legend Peter Forsberg, and founder Ali Nouri. The label’s focus on well-designed and minimalist watches has been a huge success. They’re growing rapidly and is already established in key markets around the world. Standing for quality and Swiss design, yet with an affordable price, the watches have attracted celebrities and royals alike, having been spotted on both the Swedish Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel.

This week, the brand is extending the collection this October with new finishing of the popular models Ryolit and Granit, now also available with mesh bands. In addition, the Deluxe collection will offer two new finishes: a natural gold and a rose gold plating. The watches are designed by the renowned Swiss designer Eric Giroud, who has previously created designs for luxury brands such as Harry Winston and Vacheron Constantin.

– With this new collection, Carl Edmond dresses in gold and light to become more elegant while still remaining affordable. The designs show a new “chic” attitude without being elitist. The coherence remains the strong element of this new collection and is placed in continuity of the brand’s first release last year. With a wider product offering, Carl Edmond watches will further become the companion of all circumstances and moments in life, says Giroud.

CQP x Esquire

As it turned out that the Swedish sneaker label and one of the world’s leading fashion and lifestyle magazines liked each other, they decided to create a shoe together. They decided to play it safe, starting with one of the key silhouettes, the Racquet Sr, made of Italian tumbled leather and applied special detailing in the magazine’s signature colour, with an Esquire-imprinted inner sole. The CQP x Esquire Racquet Sr was exhibited in London last weekend during the yearly Esquire Townhouse event, which covers the entire men’s fashion- and lifestyle spectrum, and is now launched in a limited drop of 37 pairs.

This watch brand is launching two new models for charity

Watch and sunglass label CHPO is inspired by skateboarding, music, and art and says they’re Made for Everywhere. And yes, it’s about offering great looks, great quality, and great social values at prices anyone can afford. But it also means to take a strong social stand for an equal society without racism, homophobia, and hatred against women. One important point is also the seasonal collaborations with different non-profit or charity organisations, where 100% of the profits are donated to their cause. The same goes for this fall with not one but two different charity collabs. Launching today is the CHPO x Skateistan watch, celebrating the latter’s 10-year-anniversary. The organisation is helping kids living in vulnerable countries to get an education and all profits are donated to their work in Afghanistan, South Africa, and Cambodia.

The other one, The Inside Light watch, is named after photographer Sevilay Maria’s photography project for children and young people living in refugee camps. The matte silver case and strap symbolises the camp and the fence where the Inside Light project started. The dial has two meanings. The camera and its shutter has inspired the pattern. White because the children are the inside light. The small black dial helps you track the time when working with analogue cameras.
