A report from the Scandinavian MAN Lounge in New York

Last week marked a new step in the history of our brand when we launched our new exhibition format Scandinavian MAN Lounge at PROJECT Show in New York. Together with our partners UBM, who runs the largest menswear trade show in North America, we had created the lounge to promote Scandinavian menswear brands, and to add live content to the popular show.

After three intense days in the legendary Jacob Javits Center, we can confirm that the Lounge was a success.

Our partners Sand Copenhagen and Filippa K displayed their upcoming AW18 collections. The latter brought the comeback collection designed by the founder and newly appointed creative director Filippa Knutsson.

In our curated exhibition we presented some stunning photography from Scandinavian MAN Issue 1, and we displayed five exciting and up-and-coming menswear brands from Scandinavia: Norwegian Rain, CDLP, Project Twlv, Appletrees, and CQP.

Interest from retailers and press was palpable. We had editors from Vogue, GQ, and Esquire in the lounge, as well as representatives from some of the most important retailers on the east coast.

This week, we have published the two popular panel talks that took place in the lounge in our two radio shows. On The Menswear Shift, you can hear a show about the evolution of modern menswear with the topic ”Communicating to guys — how online and social media is changing menswear”. Panelists are Brian Trunzo, Senior Menswear Editor at WGSN, Jeremy Kirkland, founder of the Blamo! podcast, and the streetstyle photographer Guerre.
